Default DMCH should start making

fiberglass fascias! i see so many nice cars look like crap because of warping. they are hard to fit correctly back on the car if you get them painted too, which doesnt always looks perfect in my eyes. i think the whole things needs to be retooled. i dont know where the prototype with the fiberglass fascias is but i would really suggest DMCH getting their hands on them and making some new ones.

i about crapped when i saw new dashes!!!! lets hope for that other dash item we are in nee of.

While we're at it, I wouldn't minds an optional, and extra-priced updated fascia; something that looks a little less dated. The square headlights and Camaro-esque tail lights are all the make the car look dated, in my opinion.

I think fiberglass would be bad news for usability: the urethane fascias recover from bumps and scrapes because they are flexible... fiberglass fascias would crack and shatter.

The urethane fascias are also flexible enough so that then can be stretched or compressed to mate with the very inconsistent panel fits of DeLoreans... fiberglass would be all or nothing.

Despite their shortcomings, I think the soft urethane fascias are the best application for our cars.

I dont know about you but I dont park my car anywhere near something that can dent, ding or scratch it. I am all for fiberglass front and rear facias. DMCH should just use a good straight set of oldstock as molds.

Yes and no. I mean something where there's a headlight housing for modern headlights, like what's on ProtoDeLorean, for example, would fit the lines of the car but remove the dated aspect; same for a more integrated tail light section where it doesn't have the home-built feel of the DMC's current application, though the smoked rear tail light covers I've seen alleviate this. Imagine, if you will, a brushed stainless panel that lights up with blinking directional arrows and brake lights that are super-bright LEDs.

"Toby" TABs

I bet they could sell 500 sets in a few years. This would be a money maker for DMCH.

The thing is, accidents happen regardless of how careful we are. Your car could roll forward in the garage. A family member could bump into it in the driveway, or any number of things. I actually had somebody skid into me at a stop light on a rainy night in my first DeLorean. The person fled while I got out to look at the damage. Thankfully those malleable urethane bumpers absorbed the small impact, and I didn't have to track somebody down and kill them!
