Default Delorean owner in The Villages FL

Is there any members that live in The Villages FL?

I have relatives that live in The Villages and they just sent a newspaper article about a owner that traded it for a 2002 Ford Thunderbird.

Anyone?

I don't think they are members on the board here, but there is an elderly couple from the Villages that came to one of our DCF meets a couple of years ago.

IIRC, they overtorqued their t-bars A LOT to compensate for their dying door struts. When we told them that's VERY BAD for the car, they replied that they wanted to keep the car "original" and didn't want to change out the struts. For their louvers, they fashioned some kind of plastic piece attached to the dead struts back there to keep them up....

Nice couple, just really stubborn. They kept telling us to unplug our door lights or we'll have a dead battery. We tried to explain that LEDs don't drain your battery like stock bulbs do, but they didn't want to believe in such new-fangled contraptions.

So do they change their brake pads, original coolant, oil, or replace the gas when it runs out?

Sheesh....stubborn indeed. Why would you risk breaking your torsion bars just to not swap out the struts? Or swap out the struts and keep the originals.

Hopefully the car goes to somebody who actually knows what they're doing.

I have relatives that live in The Villages. They sent me this very same article. I'm wondering if he is a member of this fourm?

Thanks jammer96!

His car looks in "new car condition" shape!
