Ok with Vegas over now is the next major event is Lexington.
YES WE HAVE A RAFFLE CAR IN LEXINGTON. Please go to www.deloreancarshow.com for all of the daily information so we don't get bogged down here. One thing that I do whant to highlight is the bus tour. This is done by a bus service that does all the major conventions and does a lot of foreign visitors. The tours are not the normal tours as they have an agreement with some of the premier horse farms and they have worked out a very detailed tour of Buffallo Distillery. I did the standard tour and they told me at the distillery that what I saw was about half what the bus tour will see. And I was impressed with what I saw. I might also add I do not drink and am not a horse fan but both of these tours had not only my interest but gave me a much better appreciation what goes into caring and raising these magnificent horses and while I used to work at a brewery for a while (Schmidts) this took what I did to a whole new level and I really appreciated what I saw. The price includes the bus tour and the admission costs to the Distillery and the horse farms. If you enjoyed Gettysburg tour you will also surely enjoy this one so I encourage you all to consider this tour. There will be some things added to the schedule over the next few months. There is a discount on the registration fee if you register early. Also please register for the hotel it give me an idea of how many of you are going. Never to early to sticky a DCS thread.
Let's keep all the DCS 2010 Lexington Kentucky posts here.

Ken informed us at DMA FFT'09 that he has rented the entire hotel -- 100% of the Marriot will be DCS.

Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today

I went to pre-register until I saw how much going to this car show costs:
Quote:
reg. 10.00x2=20.00 Thursday: 47.00x2=94.00 Friday: 57.00x2=114.00...no bus tour btw Sat. 57.00x2= 114.00 Total NOT including lodging for me and my wife to attend: 342.00 plus say another 450.00 for lodging should I stay at the Marriott(rates start at 158.00 per night and go up). So my Grand total would be close to 800.00 NOT including food. I wanted to attend DCS but for that money I'll take my wife on a cruise for a week. I know this is of no importance to anyone if one person goes or not, but if I were to spend close to $1000.00 to go to a car show I would check myself into a mental institute.

I am just the opposite, I have been to all the shows except in 2006, and I never even think about the money I spend b/c it is so much fun.

Yes it's not an inexpensive "vacation". My DCS-08 cost > $600 for myself.
Since it's only every two years I think it worth it. For Lexington my wife is coming with me. If you want to save money. Leave the wife home and find someone to share a room with.

It's not cheap, but my family views it as a vacation more thanjust a "car show" and the every-other-year thing actually works out well for us. Bascially even numbered years are "my" vacation (DCS) and odd numbered years my wife choses the destination (Disney, etc.) Makes a good compromise for us.
We've been to: DCS2000(Cleveland, OH), DCS2004(Pigeon Forge, TN), DCS2006(Chicago, IL), DCS2008(Gettysburg, PA). It's hard to believe Lexington will be TEN years since we started attending!

I would rather blow $1000 on parts for the car.
