Hey Folks,

So, here is the story on the grille. I picked this up awhile back at DMC-CA. Apparently, according to Don, this grille was off one of the cars in his lot that apparently belonged to one of John DeLorean's Lawyers back in the 80's. I don't recall which lawyer it actually was, by name. Don was able to tell me but I don't remember. So kind of a neat little story.

Anywho. I have no need for it anymore. As you can tell in the pictures, the back side where the pins go for the fascia are all worn out. Other then that, its in good shape. With a can of SEM Black Trim paint, this thing would really pop. I'm asking 100 OBO for it. Shoot me a PM or post on here. Thanks!

For reference, here is the NOS part - http://www.delorean.com/store/p-9712-grille.aspx

This is my first post so be kind, please.

This is my first post so be kind, please.

I’m thinking seriously about taking the plunge and buying a Delorean. I’ve wanted one since they came out but it was too much money for a cop back then. I’ve looked hard at them for the last couple of years.

I’ve read the FAQ’s, most of the first 75 or so topics here and a couple of web sites. I’ve been to the Bonita Springs DMC office 3 times now and they have been very patient with me. This week on my 3rd visit I had my wife and grandkids with me to hopefully get her excited and she was so-so, the kids were ecstatic . The kids (11,12,&13) got in an argument about who was going to get the car when I died :cool2:

However, I had a conference in Ft. Myers and my wife drove home to Seminole. About half way there she called me and said “When you get to be 70 or so I don’t want you to look back and say I wish I had bought a Delorean, so I think we should get one either this year or next” YAHOO!!!!\\:D/

Anyway, I’d like some guidance. I don’t want a “Show Car” that I can’t drive, but I want it to look good. I also don’t want something I have to tinker with every time I try to start it. I know it is a 27 year old car and I don’t expect miracles I just want a little reliability.

I want to drive it on the weekends or when I’m back in town, I travel a lot and when not on the road I work at home. My grandkids have already said I have to drive them to school in it.

Anyway taking into consideration the above, here is where I need some guidance.

I’m thinking about buying one that has been professionally rebuilt, I’m looking at the 30-35 K range. Do I need to spend that much or is it not enough?

Should I buy from DMC or can I find something nice from a private individual.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 rebuilds? I not talking about the parts but I’m talking about performance, reliability, functionality, mileage, etc. should I care?

What is a good source to learn more so I don’t have to ask dumb questions?

Do I want the grooved hood, Gas Flap or the plain hood

Which year or does it matter?

My wife wants to know if the roof around the door leaks.

I hate the heat in Florida, does the A/C work well?

What questions don’t I know enough to ask?

Most importantly, if you were doing this for the first time or had to do it over again what would you do?

Thanks,
Lenny

Hello all,

Due to popular demand, I have made a limited run of my Destroy My Childhood prints. The edition is limited to 200 prints. The price is $300 for a hand matted signed and numbered print and $250 for an unmatted print. Tamir will be putting up a link in his shop section soon. Shipping and handling is $20 for the matted print and $10 for the unmatted one. Please send payment with shipping address to BeautifulCapture@hotmail.com

90% of the proceeds go to fund my children's education and extracurricular activities with the other 10% going to my charity I began long ago and was never able to get finalized.

The charity will serve two functions, it will house a memorial fund for my father that will go to the American Heart Association and also help out parents of critically ill children who are living in hospital wards. It will provide them with some creature comforts while they live in the ICU waiting rooms, like home cooked meals on the holidays, books to read and other incidentals. As a parent who went through this with my daughter I can tell you from experience, everyone takes care of the children in the beds, but the parents are suffering just as much.

Thank you!

Love you all!

Yesterday, I found myself riding in a particular vehicle (not a DeLorean). Here are some of it's features:

Two-seater.
Developed in Europe during the late 1970's.
Constructed mostly of steel, stainless steel, and fiberglass.
Gull-wing doors supported by two gas struts.
Black leather seats.

I will post a picture soon, but until then, any guesses?
